Gubment Cheeze

I just updated the forums with a nasty blurb I saw on a commercial last night. The commercial went along the lines of “Attention: If you are on food stamps then you might be eligible for a government supported cell phone”. Are companies going out of their way to make people MORE dependent on the government?

Every Penny Matters

I just got off of the phone with RingCentral. They have multiple phone lines for our home and business. We recently realized that as cool as it was having an 888 number for our business we hardly ever use it to call out, and rarely get a call in. When you have a monthly expense like that it is time to review the need, and get rid of it ASAP. No matter what the amount is. This amount was pretty low – $4.99 a month, or $59.88 a year. But you have to remember that every penny matters when it comes to eliminating your expenses and your debt.

Look at your little expenses that are nickle and diming you. Review them and get rid of them.

Don’t do everything yourself

Find ways to make money with what you are good at to pay for the things you really don’t want to do. I pay for someone to mow, edge and fertilize my lawn. I can’t stand that crap. And I can make more money doing in-person or phone consulting while that person is taking care of things outside. So I am also getting two things done at once.

I’ll eventually pay for someone to:

Wash and fold my clothes

Shop for food

Wash and detail my car

Clean my house

What things are you willing to pay for?

Welcome to the Money Rules

This is the first post in our new “Money Rules” category. “Money Rules” has a double-meaning for us. Money does rule because it gives you freedom and choices. It allows you do more of what your WANT to do and less of what you HAVE to do. Very often the concept of wanting more money is made out to be a bad thing. Not to us. Money is awesome. More specifically the freedom that money brings. I’ll take that any day of the week.

This category is going to mainly deal with the other kind of “Money Rules” aka “The Rules of Money”. We are going to be publishing a series of rules that you need to know to win in the money game. These rules will cover the important area: Income management, debt management, investing strategy, etc. But more importantly it will also focus on the “Making Money Mindset”. The thought processes you need to go through as you plan and manage your financial life.

We are working on rule number one so bookmark us and we’ll see you soon.
